Diane Severson (Madison, WI, USA) attained a Bachelor of Music with honors in vocal performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and a degree in performance practice from the Academy of Early Music, Bremen, Germany. In addition she attended seminars given by Emma Kirkby, Barbara Thornton, Christoph Prégardien, Cornelius Reid and others. She has performed regularly in Germany and abroad with the ensembles Sequentia, The Lady Chapel Singers, Frankfurt a cappella and Ordo Virtutum as well as with lute players Lutz Kirchhof, Meinhard Gerlach and Andreas Düker. She is multi-facetted soloist and a dedicated teacher of singing. She has also lead numerous workshops and given lectures on various themes in medieval and baroque music.
