Anna Levenstein (Boston, MA, USA) is pursuing doctoral studies in Early Music Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. She holds degrees from the Mannes College of Music in New York and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She has toured the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia, performing the music of Hildegard von Bingen with medieval music ensembles Sequentia and Ordo Virtutum. Anna is a soloist with the Renaissance wind ensemble Ciaramella, whose first CD, Wär ich ein Falk, will be available on Naxos in the summer of 2005. With Ciaramella she has produced, directed and performed her own reconstructions of the 15th century Egmond Abbey Easter Play, and Purim Carnavale a Renaissance Purim play based on the 16th-century Hebrew comedy A Comedy of Betrothal by Leone de Sommi (1525-c.1590).
